about

During the dry season, the cities of Burkina Faso, and especially Ouagadougou, are covered with a layer of ochre dust. It penetrates every nook and causes respiratory diseases to the urban population which already faces significant contamination with hydrocarbon. The Harmattan, which blows from end-November and the traffic of the numerous motorcycles and other vehicles, raise the dust from the dirt roads and make it difficult to breath. The Vitamine Z is according to Moïse, the worst vitamin, the one which we inhale without knowing it and which we hold to be responsible of any disease! That is the ochre dust, so typical in Burkina Faso. In Brussels, the senseless daily traffic of cars and trucks makes the air as unbreathable as in Burkina and insidiously affects city dwellers’ health. Will it still be possible to breath in these cities? This piece is based on a Warba rhythm of the Moosi ethinc group from central Brukina Faso.
